Break Up With My Cruel Fiancé He Regretted It Chapter 07

Benicio slammed his head against the floor repeatedly, the heavy thuds echoing through the hall. His forehead was already bruised and bleeding.

Mitchell let out a cold laugh.

“It’s too late.

“My granddaughter is getting married tomorrow.

“She’ll marry someone who actually knows how to cherish her.

“A piece of trash like you isn’t even worthy of tying her shoelaces.”

Mitchell gestured for the nurse to wheel him back into the room.

The door slammed shut right in front of Benicio.

Collapsing to the ground, Benicio stared at the mud and blood coating his hands and let out a broken, agonized wail. The sound was primal, torn from somewhere deep in his chest.

Adelynn’s POV

Inside the hospital room, I leaned against the bed with thick gauze wrapped around my head.

Salvatore sat beside me, holding a bowl of warm tonic soup.

He wore a plain black shirt with the sleeves rolled up, revealing the lean muscles of his forearms. The fabric stretched across his broad shoulders. He looked nothing like the cold, ruthless businessman the world knew.

“Open your mouth.”

He scooped a spoonful of soup, blew on it to cool it down, and held it gently to my lips.

His tenderness was a sharp contrast to his stern appearance.

I hesitated for a moment before parting my lips to eat.

A soft warmth spread through my stomach. The soup was perfect — not too hot, not too cold. He had made sure of that.

“Thank you, Mr. Tutheridge.”

Salvatore set down the bowl and wiped the corner of my mouth with a tissue.

“Our wedding is tomorrow. What should you call me?”

I looked down, a faint blush tinting my cheeks. “Salvo.”

A satisfied smile tugged at his lips. “Good. I’ve arranged for a top medical team to take over your grandfather’s treatment.

“You don’t need to worry about the medication anymore. The research institute under the Tutheridge family has developed a much better alternative.

“Your grandfather’s condition is improving. He’ll be so happy to watch you walk down the aisle tomorrow.”

My eyes stung as I looked at him.

For five years, I had grown used to carrying all my fears alone. I was used to walking on eggshells and trying to please Benicio.

This was the first time someone had stepped in to protect me and take care of everything.

I felt like I could actually rely on someone and be cherished.

Night fell.

Salvatore had to leave for a moment to handle an emergency at his company.

I stayed by Grandpa’s bedside, watching him sleep peacefully. The rhythmic beep of the monitors was the only sound. I thought about everything that had led me here — the years of neglect, the betrayals, the moment I finally decided I deserved better.

Suddenly, the door creaked. A man in a janitor’s uniform slipped inside.

He pulled off his mask.

It was Benicio.

He looked haggard. His eyes were bloodshot and heavy with exhaustion, and his jaw was covered in stubble.

The proud, arrogant air he usually had was completely gone. In its place was something desperate and broken.

“Lynn.”

He lowered his voice and hurried over to me.

“I paid 150,000 dollars to bribe a nurse and sneak in here wearing this.”

He dropped to his knees at my feet and gripped my wrists tightly.

“Lynn, will you come back with me?

“I’ve stripped Xiomara of all her positions. I sent her away for good.

“I’ll listen to everything you say from now on. I’ll even transfer all my shares in the Gudgion Group to your name.

“Just don’t marry Salvatore. You clearly love me!”

He rambled incoherently, begging desperately. Hot tears fell onto the back of my hands.

They burned against my skin, but they filled me with nothing but revulsion. The touch that had once made my heart race now made my stomach turn.
