Too Late For Redemption Chapter 09

Too Late For Redemption Chapter 09

Luna woke up, a petal-shaped dome coming into view.

A sharp headache immediately followed.

She clutched her head and propped herself up; the last thing she remembered was the violent shaking and turbulence of the plane.

She looked around.

It looked like a manor.

The decor was in the style of an old castle, and outside the window, a large field of roses was in full bloom.

It was a pity she couldn’t see their colors clearly.

The door was pushed open.

“Luna, you’re finally awake!”

Her grandmother was in tears, her eyes full of heartache as she looked at the raised whip marks on Luna’s wrists, choking with sobs and unable to speak.

Her usually stern grandfather also had red eyes.

“Luna, now that you’re back, just get a good rest!

Leave everything else to Grandpa!”

Only then did Luna learn that she had been lucky after the plane crash, having been washed ashore by the waves and saved by fishermen.

“Don’t worry, Grandpa is already investigating the Carters’ background.

I’ll definitely make the Carters pay dearly for this!

You just focus on recovering your health.”

Luna’s eyes dimmed.

“Thank you, Grandpa and Grandma.

It’s just that I want to rest for a while first, you can make the decisions for everything else.”

The two elders nodded, introducing the place to her.

“This is our Evans family’s Manor in Italy, and William is the butler of this estate!”

In the corner, an elegant man with blond hair and blue eyes, wearing a tailcoat, bowed to her.

“The manor is an ancestral manor passed down in the Evans family; it is absolutely safe.

Your grandmother and I still have business back in the country.

Rest well, and if you need anything, just look for William.”

Their phone ringtones kept chiming, and the two elders left reluctantly.

When William returned from seeing the elders off, Luna was staring blankly at the black-and-white courtyard.

He walked to the side of the girl’s bed, picked up a cushion, and placed it behind her back.

“Beautiful lady, the roses blooming in the yard today are champagne-colored.”

Luna was stunned.

“I have consulted the family doctor to fully understand your physical condition.

Color blindness can cause poor vision in the dark or on rainy days, so I will not turn off the lights and will try to keep the room well-lit.”

The girl fell silent, tears unknowingly streaming down her face.

“Thank you!”

Ever since her miscarriage, this was the first time she had talked about her color blindness with anyone.

William took out a handkerchief and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes.

“Florence is a beautiful city, you will come to love it here!”

The next day, Luna took the sandwich and milk, surprised to see William wearing a collegiate shirt and vest.

“Aren’t you the butler?”

“Yes, Miss, but there are few people in the manor and the internal affairs are simple.

The old master also agreed to let me freely pursue university courses in my spare time!”

He was changing out the fresh roses in his hand, still wearing a smile.

“Of course, if you mind, I will manage to postpone my graduation!”

Luna swallowed a mouthful of milk and waved her hands repeatedly.

“Just keep doing as you did before.”

“Thank you, Miss.”

The man took her right hand and placed a feather-light kiss on the back of it.

“I shall see you at lunch, then.”

William’s etiquette was impeccable, not causing the girl the slightest discomfort.

Instead, it vaguely reminded Luna of the European aristocrats she had previously met with Ms. Pendleton.

Suddenly, she thought again of that grand fashion show, the one hailed as her farewell masterpiece.

She wondered if Ms. Pendleton had attended…

She picked up her phone and typed into the search engine, word by word.

“Withered Red and Deserted Love, Boundless White Nights.”

She hesitated over the enter button for a long while.

Just as she was about to press it, a knock came at the door.

“Miss, it’s time to change your dressing.”

Luna turned off her phone screen.

“Ms. Evans, after a few more dressing changes, your daily life shouldn’t be much affected.”

“Thank you, Dr. Jenny.”

Dr. Jenny rolled down her pant leg and smiled, “You should really be thanking Mr. William.

When you suffered that brain injury, it was his family who provided you with the most advanced treatments and surgeries.”

Luna was shocked.

“Could William actually be the young heir to that Italian pharmaceutical conglomerate?”
