The Fake Heiress And Her Obsessive Fiancé Chapter 04
That night, Wesley dressed himself up like a peacock, deliberately showing off the eight-pack on his abdomen.
“Cristina,” he said smugly, “go ahead—inspect the goods.”
He grabbed my wrist and pressed my hand against his abs. “I didn’t touch anyone that night. You blocked Liam, and I rushed back overnight.
“Cristina, you obviously care about me.”
Hearing that made my heart soften. “Maybe…” I thought, “Wesley does care about me.”
I lifted my hand and pushed him away. “You still smell like alcohol,” I said coolly. “Go shower again.”
Wesley looked like he wanted to argue, but in the end, he obediently went to the bathroom.
While Wesley was in the shower, the tablet he’d left on the sofa suddenly lit up.
I glanced at it. A message had popped up from his friends’ group chat. “Wes, I checked it out for you. That guy is Cristina’s senior from college.”
“You care that much about that guy—does that mean you’ve actually fallen for Cristina?”
Wesley replied, “Who said I like Cristina? I just don’t like the idea of her switching to another guy.
“I’d never want a woman who can’t stay loyal.
“Once I train Cristina properly and make her fall completely in love with me, I’ll dump her.”
So, the fury, the desperation—it was all an act. This was the game he was playing behind my back.
A bitter smile tugged at my lips.
Lost in my thoughts, I didn’t even notice Wesley had finished showering until he came up behind me.
His breath was warm against my skin as his lips moved slowly down from my neck, his voice low and husky. “Cristina… It’s been so long.”
I raised a hand and pushed him away. My voice turned cold. “Wesley, don’t touch me. I don’t like it.”
Wesley cursed under his breath, frowning. “You won’t let me touch you? Are you planning to throw me away for Terrence?”
Thinking of what he’d written in the group chat, I suddenly didn’t feel like explaining anything.
The engagement was going to end sooner or later anyway.
At least this way, I’d look like the one walking away—not the one left behind.
I pressed my lips together. “Yeah. From now on, I won’t interfere with anything you do.
“And you don’t interfere with my life either. We’ll both just do as we please.”
“I don’t agree!” Wesley’s eyes reddened with fury. “Cristina, either you cut him off, or we break off the engagement.”
“Fine,” I said calmly, going along with his words. “Then I’ll set up a meeting with both our families tomorrow.”
After saying that, I forced back the tears burning in my eyes and slammed the door as I walked out.
