Philip circled us like we were suspects in an interrogation, while Elliana watched from the side. All she needed was a bowl of popcorn.
“Shoot! How long have you two been hooking up behind my back? If I hadn’t caught you today, how much longer were you planning to keep me in the dark?
“You used to tell me everything. Am I your brother or not?”
The way he kept moving around made me nauseous. I said impatiently, “Didn’t you already see it? Besides, you didn’t tell me when you and Ella were hooking up.”
Philip shot me a look of disappointment. “Is that the same thing? You’re a girl.”
“Didn’t you ask me to own up to it? I’m just following your advice. The Mosleys don’t go back on their word.”
He hadn’t expected me to use his own words against him. He grabbed my ear and started giving me an earful.
“Since when are you so good at taking advice?
“And I told him to call me ‘the alpha’! He didn’t, did he?”
Killian had taken time off from school, but technically, he was a year or two older than Philip. Both of them wanted to be the alpha. So neither was willing to give in.
Killian intervened. He rubbed my reddened ear, then lifted his eyes and gave Philip a flat, unreadable look.
“I can call you that. Do you dare to answer?”
Philip immediately chickened out. Just imagining it made him sick. Then he lifted his foot and kicked Killian.
“Get lost. I can’t stand you two right now.”
Truthfully, Philip thought highly of Killian, but they didn’t hit it off at the start.
Philip thought Killian was full of himself, and Killian thought Philip was a few bricks shy of a road.
But deep down, they knew each other was loyal. Otherwise, with their personalities, they would’ve come to blows a long time ago.
Deciding the show was over, Elliana promptly ushered Killian and me out the door.
“Since you are a thing now, go get a room. Phil and I still have some unfinished business.”
