The Esports Superstar Is Mine Chapter 03
After the match, I suggested we grab a few drinks at the bar.
Even though Killian seemed unfazed, this kind of thing still stung. He needed to blow off some steam before it got to him.
Initially, he didn’t want to go, but he caved the second I played the “I saw you naked” card.
“If you don’t come, I’ll post the whole thing online. Scared yet?”
With both hands in his pockets, he said lazily, “Yep. I’m shaking in my boots. Let’s go. You little perv!”
For some reason, that word hit differently coming from him, and I could feel myself blushing.
Thinking the first floor was too crowded, Philip got us a booth upstairs.
Not long after, he came back with a woman. I looked up, and to my surprise, it was Elliana McKinney, the caster I had seen on stage!
Philip strutted over, proud as a peacock. I had no idea what he was so smug about.
“Told you she was my girlfriend, but you wouldn’t believe me. Who’s laughing now?”
I flashed my sweetest smile, offered Elliana a drink, and chirped, “Nice to meet you, Elliana.”
She was beautiful in an almost aggressive way. Those foxy eyes were made to steal hearts, yet when she spoke, she was surprisingly down-to-earth.
“Don’t mind your brother. You’re so adorable. Let me squeeze those little cheeks.”
She pulled me close, squeezed my cheeks, and coaxed me into another round of drinks. Once I hit my limit, I slipped behind Killian and gingerly tugged at his shirt.
“Help me!”
His lips curled into a smirk, and his gaze lingered on me.
“Beg me.”
What kind of kink was that? I was about to fire back when I saw Elliana reaching for me again. In a panic, I whispered, “Please. I’m begging you.”
Only then did Killian step in front of me, steering Elliana toward Philip and signaling him to keep an eye on her.
The fun, however, was short-lived. An unwelcome guest showed up.
Darion made a beeline for Killian and let out a disdainful snort. “Well, well! If it isn’t the Yellowjacket’s former captain? Come on, everyone. Let’s say hi.”
“Why would anyone greet a has-been who got kicked by his own team? Just looking at his face is enough to kill the mood.”
“For real! How does he still have the nerve to show his face?”
Emboldened by alcohol, I shot to my feet and stood before Killian.
“Quit yapping! Crawl back where you came from!” I hissed.
“Don’t make me say it twice!”
Darion licked his lips, his eyes as cold and cruel as a serpent’s.
“Girlfriend? Killian, since when do you need a woman to protect you?
“Sweetie, you can do better than him. He has bipolar disorder, and his mother is crazy. Who knows when she’ll snap and beat you to death? Come with me instead. I promise I’ll treat you better and give you anything you want.”
Killian’s mother?
As he spoke, he moved to touch my face. Killian slapped his hand away, his eyes blazing with silent rage.
“Darion, do you have a death wish?” he snarled.
Clearly, Darion was up to no good. He was trying to provoke Killian.
I glanced at the people behind him and, as expected, saw several phones raised toward us.
I wasn’t a fool. I started recording the moment they came over. If they posted the video online, I wouldn’t hesitate to sue them.
“Leave, or I’ll call the police. You’re a public figure. Anything you do or say can go viral. Imagine if I uploaded that little speech of yours. Wouldn’t that count as verbal harassment and get you into trouble?”
Darion seemed rattled. He scoffed, “Pathetic,” and went off to another bar.
That whole thing had me seething.
I grabbed Elliana and started chugging beer.
Apparently, Elliana had been fed up with Darion and his crew for a while.
She snapped, “Those assholes! Casting their matches is such a waste of my beautiful voice!”
“Hear, hear! I’m going to make a fake account tomorrow and roast them. Who do they even think they are?”
Killian and Philip tried to stop us, but it was impossible to talk any sense into drunk women.
In the end, they watched us melt into the booth like puddles of jelly.
Philip scooped Elliana up and said, “I’ll take her home. You take my sister back.”
Halfway out, he looked back and added, “Behave yourself, or you’re dead to me.”
“You talk too much.”
The wind at night was gentle and soothing.
My vision started to blur.
A sudden urge hit me to climb onto the flower bed by the roadside, and with some effort, I got up there and opened my arms toward Killian.
“Hold me, or—burp—I’m not going.”
