Nathaniel finally snapped out of it and grabbed my wrist.
I immediately slapped his hand away and opened the box. Inside, a dazzling set of sapphire jewelry lay quietly.
“Oh, this?” Lifted it, my tone intimate yet with a hint of playful complaint. “The ‘Neptune’s Heart’ you bought for eight million at auction the year we got married, remember? It’s… the one you wanted to give to Isabella but never got the chance.”
Nathaniel’s pupils constricted violently.
I looked at Isabella apologetically. “I’m so sorry, Isabella. It’s not that I’m being stingy and won’t give it to you. It’s just that Mr. Sheeran from Endurance Group, the one who wants to partner with the Harrington group, took a liking to this set a few days ago.
