I Signed With The Wrong Husband Chapter 09
In the very next second, Sylvester’s breath caught. The glass in his hand fell and shattered on the floor with a sharp clang..
That profile… The curve of her eyes when she smiled… It was Henrietta–who he believed had died in that desolate valley!
Beside him, Miranda began to tremble uncontrollably, her face turning ashen.
She had seen it with her own eyes–the police carrying Henrietta’s body out of the ravine. Yet Henrietta was alive? How?
But what truly froze her blood was the moment she clearly saw Cedric’s face. She nearly cried out, barely stifling the sound with her hand.
Cedric was….
He was that autistic bodyguard!
Months ago, she had found an injured man collapsed at her family’s estate.
He was breathtakingly handsome. Fantasizing that he might be some lost heir, she had taken him in.
But when he woke with no memory and refused to speak, she lost interest.
After posting his photo on Instagram to maintain her kind image, she planned to send him away.
But the family housekeeper, out of pity, secretly kept him.
Seeing his silence as autism, Miranda had hatched a scheme. She fabricated an identity for him and coaxed Sylvester into marrying Henrietta off to him.
After the marriage was registered, she had taken out all her resentment toward Henrietta on him- beating, scolding, withholding his meals.
Until he suddenly vanished one day.
She hadn’t cared. To her, he was just a worthless autistic patient with a pretty face.
But he turned out to be Cedric Hammond, the legend.
Henrietta saw the two. She leaned toward Cedric with a chuckle, her voice soft yet reaching Miranda’s ears clearly. “Look, Liam. Your owner is right there.”
Cedric squeezed her fingers, his eyes full of indulgence, though his tone held an edge of cold amusement. “You’re the only one bold enough to call me that. You’ve always been my one and only owner.”
A faint blush colored Henrietta’s cheeks. She patted him playfully, her demeanor effortlessly charming. Through it all, she never once glanced at Sylvester.
But Sylvester couldn’t look away. He stared at the two without blinking. After ten years by her side, of course, he recognized her effortlessly.
