Abandoned By My Alpha And Pup Now Their Rival’s Luna Chapter 12
THE TRUTHÂ
Serena rushes down the hallway, her face twisted in exaggerated panic.
“Alpha! How is Leo doing?”
Grayson opens his eyes. He looks at her face, and for the first time, he finds her utterly unrecognizable.
Her father is a high-ranking pack elder. Serena practically grew up in the pack house, He always thought she was fiercely loyal. He thought everything she did was for the good of the pack…
But the delirious words Leo just muttered are stabbing into his brain like silver needles.
“How exactly have you been raising my pup?” he asks, his voice colder than a winter storm.
Serena freezes. “What?”
“I asked you, what have you been teaching Leo?” He pushes off the wall, towering over her with lethal intent. “Money-burning cripple.’ ‘Pull the tube. ‘Filthy rogue. Did you teach him those words?”
Serena’s face drains of all color. Her lips tremble. “Alpha, I didn’t… I was just speaking from a rational standpoint regarding pack resources…”
“Rational?” He lets out a dark, humorless laugh, his eyes flashing with pure Alpha rage. “Teaching a four-year-old to be ‘rational’? Teaching him to spit in his own mother’s face-is that what you call rational?!”
“Alpha, please, let me explain-“
“Get out.”
Two words, dropping like blocks of ice.
“What happened last night was a mistake. I only touched you to spite Maeve. I’ll have the treasury transfer a sum to your account. From now on, you are never to show your face in front of me again.”
Serena’s eyes turn red.
She waited for years, finally managed to get him into bed, and this is the result?
But seeing the murderous aura rolling off him, she knows better than to argue. She bites her lip, turns, and flees.
Grayson leans back against the wall.
He had been blinded by rage last night.
Yes, he had indulged Serena’s presence to spite Maeve, but he had never actually crossed the line until yesterday.
If it hadn’t been for last night, he wouldn’t have even realized how… aggressive Serena was.
A chilling thought crosses his mind. He mind-links his Beta.
“Look into the incidents from January, the eighth of last month, and a few days ago. Find out exactly why Maeve was at those motels. And dig up everything on those three males.”
He used to let Serena handle all these investigations.
But if Serena had her own agenda…
Panic claws at his throat. He quickly opens the phone and types:
[Maeve, I’m sorry.]
He stares at the screen. One minute passes. Five minutes. Ten.
Her silence terrifies him more than any scream.
He sends another: [Leo keeps crying for you. Just come back and see him. Please?]
Then, he slowly slides down the wall, burying his face in his hands.
He remembers locking her in that dark closet last night. Her mouth gagged, her wrists bound, forced to listen to him fucking another female.
He remembers her screaming that her mother was going to jump, and him calling her a liar.
His chest tightens so hard he can barely breathe.
