Wake Up To Him Chapter 04

Wake Up To Him Chapter 04

Owen stood inside the room: “Bro, you are here.”

Quentin asked, “Why are you back?”

“I just felt it wasn’t right to leave her behind.

By the way, bro, I went to the bedroom just now and didn’t see Jade. Have you seen her?”

“No.”

Quentin lowered his eyes.

At this very moment.

I was squatting under the desk, pressed tightly against Quentin’s suit pants, holding my breath completely.

“Maybe she went to the bathroom. I’ll wait here for a bit.”

Owen plopped down on the sofa, pulled out his phone, and started playing.

Before his game even loaded, he suddenly frowned.

“Bro, why is there a sweet scent in your study?”

“I lit an aromatherapy candle.”

“Don’t you hate those the most?

Did the sun rise in the west today?”

Owen still didn’t suspect anything.

However, he got up and started looking for the candle.

He was about to walk right behind the desk.

Quentin reached out and stopped him: “Get out.”

“Huh?”

“I’ll transfer you a hundred thousand. Go give Niki a bath. The dog reeks.”

“That’s the nanny’s job!”

“Are you going or not?”

Quentin’s gaze was unyielding, “Keep the full amount.”

“Alright alright!

I’ll make sure she’s spotless!”

Owen went downstairs to get the dog.

Once the house fell completely quiet, I finally crawled out from under the desk.

Head spinning, I got straight to the point: “Have you been having the same dreams as me?”

“From the looks of it, yes.”

“How is that even possible… Should we check the timeline?”

Quentin pushed up his rimless glasses:

“The first time, on August 10th, you treated me as your emotional dumping ground and spouted a lot of nonsense.”

“The second time…”

“The sixth time, you said, ‘You there? Let me see those abs.'”

Me: …

“The seventh time, in September, our relationship took a turn, and we—”

“Alright! Say no more!”

It really was a shared dream.

The sheer amount of information, coupled with my illness, made my vision blur, and I nearly fainted.

Quentin reached out and steadied me.

“Don’t think about this for now. Get some good rest.”

He carried me back to the bedroom.

But halfway there, we bumped into the nanny.

The nanny’s eyes slowly widened, completely forgetting to even greet us.

“Is that… Ms., Ms. Cooper in your arms?”

I tried my hardest to cover my face.

Quentin said calmly: “You know what to do.”

His tone was gentle and polite, yet held an unmistakable warning.

The nanny hurried away: “Oh my, I’m getting old, my eyes are blurry, I can’t see a thing…”

Quentin placed me on the bed and tucked me in.

“Lorelei is very honest and won’t gossip. Just focus on recovering.”

I was truly exhausted and had no energy to bicker with him.

In the evening, Owen came back from washing the dog.

He tossed a box of medicine onto my nightstand: “Come to a party with me on Boxing Day, and don’t embarrass me.”

I thought Owen would leave right after dropping that line.

But he suddenly sniffed the air hard a couple of times.

“Wait, what a familiar scent…”

Oh no.

Am I going to be exposed?

I gripped my water cup tightly, my mind going blank for a second.

As clueless as Owen was, he didn’t overthink it: “My brother’s study has this same aromatherapy scent. It smells pretty good.”

I secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Then, I heard him mutter: “My brother went on a business trip. I can finally be free for a few days.”

“A business trip?”

“Yeah, he just left at noon.”

He was probably hiding from me.

Quentin didn’t come home until it was time to celebrate Christmas.

When he saw me, he still just gave a faint nod.

As if nothing had ever happened.

Boxing Day arrived quickly.

I had recovered from my illness and went with Owen to his high school reunion.

With a personality like Owen’s, he was the center of attention wherever he went.

Which meant I was also thrust into the spotlight.

One of his friends slung an arm around his shoulder and muttered: “Is this the girl you brought to make Kiera jealous?

Bro, are you blind?

She’s way prettier than Kiera!”

“You’re the blind one. How could she ever compare to Kiera?”

“So did you tell her?

She might get targeted by Kiera today.”

“No need to tell her.”

Owen said casually, “The more she targets her, the more it proves Kiera can’t let me go.”

I sat right beside them and heard every word loud and clear.

Owen turned his head to clink glasses with someone: “We’re not going home tonight until we’re drunk!”

Someone teased: “Mr. Owen, do you even dare to drink?

Aren’t you afraid your brother will beat you up?”

“My brother doesn’t have time for me today. He went on a blind date.”

My already wandering thoughts suddenly snapped into focus at that moment.

Who was Quentin? The current head of the Parsons Group, powerful and handsome.

Everyone was extremely interested in gossip about him.

Owen was also happy to share:

“Him? He’s an old bachelor. I don’t know why he agreed to go on a blind date this year.”

“Probably because his blind date is pretty. I heard they’re a perfect match in social status, too.”

“Tsk, looks like I’m getting a sister-in-law.”

The loud music grated on my nerves, leaving me irritable.

Just then, the private room door was pushed open.

“Kiera is here!”

“Welcome, campus queen!”
