The Incubus Who Played Me First Chapter 01

The Incubus Who Played Me First Chapter 01

My best friend, Chloe Bennett, gifted me an incubus.

That very night, I impatiently dragged him into bed.

Who would have thought the incubus, Julian Vance, was completely useless.

All those eight-pack abs, broad shoulders, and narrow waist for nothing—he didn’t even last ten seconds!

I clicked my tongue, pulled up my pants, and left, only to be kidnapped and brought back to him half a month later.

Once again, I saw that breathtakingly beautiful face.

My gaze swept downward with pointed implication.

“What, did you take a pill today?”

He turned his face away in embarrassment, but nodded.

“…I did.”

It took four deliverymen working together just to barely haul that coffin-sized, heavily wrapped cardboard box into my house.

My anger had already reached its peak.

Closing the door, dialing the number, and roaring—all in one breath.

“Chloe Bennett, are you crazy?

“I’m only twenty-one and you bought me a coffin?

“And cash on delivery?

“Do you know how expensive the shipping was?”

“Stop, stop, stop!”

Chloe repeatedly interrupted.

“What coffin?

“This is a birthday present I spent a fortune on for you!

“I only sent it cash on delivery because I spent all my money getting you the best gift possible!”

I gestured at the cardboard box, half-believing and half-doubting.

What kind of astronomical gift could this hold?

I couldn’t imagine.

The next second, a flap opened at the front of the box, and a head popped out.

It’s alive?!

I was shocked for a moment.

The moment I saw that face clearly, I was shocked again.

God, he was so beautiful.

Slightly upturned almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, thin lips that looked incredibly kissable, and a half-open shirt collar that faintly revealed smooth, firm muscle lines.

Every single feature in my line of sight hit my aesthetic sweet spot perfectly.

“You see it now? Sarah Sterling! Don’t ever say I don’t love you!”

Chloe was still chattering away in my ear.

“This is a 5A-grade incubus, got it?

“Not only are his face and body A-grade, but his voice, personality, and most importantly, that aspect are too… tsk tsk.

“If I hadn’t been called out of the country on short notice and couldn’t celebrate your birthday with you, I would never have been willing to spend so much money on a gift for you.”

These words went in my left ear and out the right.

In fact, I only heard one keyword.

“Right, speaking of…”

“Big!” Chloe stated decisively.

I hung up the phone with a smack, and turned on Do Not Disturb mode while I was at it.

Sudden emergency, very busy, do not disturb.

The incubus tilted his head at me.

“Master?”

Cough.

I pressed a hand to my chest, finding it a little hard to breathe.

“Hurry and come in, you can take your pants off right here… No, I mean your shoes!”

The incubus obediently followed behind me, changed into slippers, and handed me the small metal tag hanging from his chest.

It detailed the incubus’s name and basic information.

Julian Vance, 20, 183cm.

Gentle and loyal personality, deep and pleasant voice.

The name sounded a bit familiar.

I thought about it, but my brain had already melted into mush, and I couldn’t come up with anything.

Whatever, he’s already here!

Time to inspect the goods first!

I excitedly reached out to unbutton Julian’s shirt.

Julian chuckled softly. His hand had somehow already wrapped around my lower back, gently stroking it.

“In such a rush?”

“…Ah, is that not okay?”

After all, it was my first time keeping an incubus.

Zero experience.

Thinking about it, I really was being way too forward.

Like a sex-starved fiend.

“Uh, should we eat first then?”

In a panic, I spun around and tried to make a run for the kitchen.

But Julian hooked his arm around my waist and pulled me back.

“Let’s make dinner first.”

He murmured in my ear, his tone heavy with implication.

M-make what kind of dinner?

Head bowed, my face burning and my heart pounding, I reached out with trembling hands.

I barely managed to undo the second button when a thick instruction manual fell out from his shirt collar.

My eyebrow twitched.

“Who came up with the idea of putting a manual in a place like this?”

Julian’s lips curled into a smirk.

“The boss said it’s the only way to ensure customers notice the manual, cutting down on after-sales disputes.”
