Not Waiting For You Chapter 09

Tyrone was taken aback. Invitation? He didn’t have one.

Amira didn’t send him an invitation.

Frowning, he declared firmly, “I’m the groom.”

The smile on the clerk’s face froze.

She looked at him in bewilderment and checked the guest list. “You’re… Mr. Benson, the groom?” she asked cautiously.

“Who else should I be?”

He was running out of patience.

The guests had all arrived.

The wedding was too sudden. He hadn’t had the time to invite his relatives. That was part of the reason he was unhappy.

Well, since he was already here, he decided not to dwell on it.

Curious gazes were cast at him from time to time.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” With Tyrone’s identity ascertained, the clerk made way for him at once. “Mr. Benson, the bride isn’t here yet. You can wait for her in the lounge of the hall. I can lead you there if you want.”

Tyrone waved his hand in refusal.

Walking along the carpeted corridor, he headed to the hall.

His acquaintances all had a surprised look on their faces when they saw him and congratulated him.

“Tyrone! Congratulations! After dating for eight years, you and Amira are finally getting married.”

“Where’s the bride? Are you still hiding her from us?”

Tyrone forced a smile and replied perfunctorily, but his eyes kept wandering to the entrance.

What was taking Amira so long?

Where was Cynthia?

At the venue, there was no one he could talk to about Amira’s whereabouts.

Once again, he dialed her number. Her phone was still off.

Consumed with anxiety, he wanted to approach the hotel manager. Just then, a commotion came from the hall entrance, accompanied by the joyful clamor of children.

Tyrone cheered up immediately.

After tidying his suit jacket, he strode over, ready to witness the marvelous beauty of his bride in a wedding dress, ready for her sad or surprised stare, ready to display his tolerance and magnanimousness in front of everyone, although he was determined to teach her a lesson at night.

Her joke had crossed the line.

The crowd parted to make way for the newcomers.

The flower girl entered first in a beautiful gauze dress, tossing petals on her way.

Then, Cynthia walked in, wearing a champagne bridesmaid’s dress.

The second she saw Tyrone coming toward them from the other end of the hall, the smile on her face vanished.

The rage in her eyes unnerved him. He subconsciously slowed down.

Just then, Cynthia looked away, turned around, and, bowing slightly, made a gesture of inviting with her hand.

“Now, let’s welcome the beautiful bride, Ms. Amira Snyder!” she announced loudly, looking at the entrance.

The next second, Amira appeared in a white wedding gown, looking pure and noble.

Under the veil, she looked gorgeous and serene.

The smile on her lips was the same as he had seen in the photo.

Excited, Tyrone’s heart skipped a beat.

All of a sudden, he forgot what facial expression he should display, and the words he had rehearsed over and again in his mind all stuck on his tongue.

He was about to go to Amira to fulfil his duty as the groom when a stately stranger appeared at the other end of the carpet. The man walked past him toward Amira and extended his hand to her.

Just then, the MC’s cheerful voice resonated throughout the venue. “Ladies and gentlemen, let’s warmly welcome the happy couple — the beautiful bride, Ms. Amira Snyder, and the handsome groom, Mr. Joseph Benson!”
