Not Waiting For You Chapter 07
“What was sold?” Tyrone didn’t follow.
“Your wedding home. The security guard said it was sold and transferred several days ago.”
Tyrone was putting on his suit jacket. Hearing the news, he paused. His hands froze midair.
“Transferred?” Confusion was written all over his face. “Be specific,” he said, his eyebrows tightly knitted.
“The security guard said the apartment you and Amira were living in has a new owner now. I asked him where Amira is, but he doesn’t know.”
The more his friend spoke, the more ridiculous he felt. He couldn’t help raising his voice. “Tyrie, did you and Amira move without telling us? Where are we to pick her up?”
Tyrone felt as if a thunderbolt had struck in his head.
He couldn’t hear what his friend said next.
Their apartment was… sold?
From the house-picking to the decoration design and the furnishing, he and Amira did everything together.
It was where they were going to hold their wedding.
He was too stunned to move.
“Tyrie? Are you there? Say something. What should we do?” his friend urged anxiously.
Tyrone’s Adam’s apple bobbed quickly.
He couldn’t say anything until his eyes landed on his suit jacket, which had fallen to the floor. “The address… Give me the new owner’s contact information or the realtor’s phone number. Now!” he roared on the phone as he staggered to the door.
Amira sold their apartment?
She didn’t want it anymore?
It was their home. They had lived there for five years. Now, she threw it away? Didn’t she want him anymore, either?
The realization made Tyrone feel suffocated, as if his world were falling apart.
Putting his pride aside, he dialed Amira’s number frantically.
Once, twice… ten times…
Still, only the icy and mechanical voice answered politely, “The phone you’re calling is off.”
Her phone was off.
Tyrone couldn’t believe his ears.
She turned her phone off on the day he finally decided to marry her? When he was planning a surprise for her?
