I Walked Away And He Fell Apart Chapter 06
I quickly dismissed thoughts of Nathaniel from my mind, my smile blossoming like a flower in spring: “Of course, Mrs. Sheeran.”
Nathaniel stood frozen, his expression one of disbelief, as I followed Mrs. Sheeran without a backward glance. The air buzzed with a mix of excitement and mischief as I stepped into the unknown.
Half an hour later, I found myself in an upscale private club, a place where the atmosphere thrummed with energy. Mrs. Sheeran gestured toward a lineup of well-built male masseurs, each standing at attention like soldiers ready for inspection, their unique charms on full display. She winked at me, her eyes sparkling with playful encouragement: “Go on, pick one. The massage techniques here are the absolute best.”
【(!!!!!!!!)】
【Go on, sis, pick one!]
【Nathaniel always goes to clubs for pretty female masseuses, so how is he any better?!】
【Go for it, sis!】
【Why should he get to have fun and not you?】
【You have to try it!】
【Quick!】
【Pick the one with the eight-pack!】
【And the bronze skin, panting!】
The collective excitement of my friends echoed in my mind, amplifying my own thrill.
As I surveyed the lineup before me, which could easily rival a male model runway show, I found myself unconsciously sinking onto a plush couch, my heart racing with anticipation.
The next morning, I stepped out of a sleek Porsche, the sun glinting off its polished surface, and found myself face-to-face with a dark figure rushing out of the villa. Before I could fully comprehend the situation, a strong hand gripped my wrist.
It was Nathaniel, unshaven and wild-eyed, his suit wrinkled from a night of worry. The sight of him, with bloodshot eyes that seemed to pierce through me, sent a shiver down my spine.
He glared at the young masseur standing behind me, his voice a low growl filled with disbelief: “Who is he?!”
The young masseur flinched under Nathaniel’s fierce gaze, clearly taken aback by the intensity of the moment.
I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me. With a swift motion, I shook off Nathaniel’s grip, frowning at him. “Look at yourself, Nathaniel. You’re a mess.”
“Now get back inside,” he commanded, his tone brooking no argument.
The hurt in Nathaniel’s eyes mixed with shock and a hint of humiliation, making my heart ache.
Taking in the disheveled state of his once-pristine suit and the dark stubble shadowing his jaw, I softened my tone, allowing concern to seep into my words. “Just look at you. What a sight. How long do you plan to stay in that suit?”
“Where’s the dignity of a company president?” I added, my voice laced with a gentle reprimand.
He glanced down at his wrinkled attire, his lips parting as if he wanted to defend himself but found no words.
“Go back and get cleaned up first,” I urged, my tone shifting to one of coaxing. “I’ll be back shortly, and we can talk then.”
Nathaniel opened his mouth as if to protest, but ultimately he nodded, shoulders slumping in resignation as he turned and trudged back into the villa, the weight of his defeat palpable.
Only after his figure had completely faded from view did I turn around, a smile blooming on my face as I addressed the young masseur, who still stood there, clearly stunned. “Thank you for bringing me home. I truly appreciate it.”
He blinked in surprise at the rapid shift in my demeanor, but quickly regained his composure, scratching his head sheepishly and breaking into a radiant smile that showcased a charming dimple: “It was no trouble at all! Hey, um… can I add you as a friend? Call me next time, and I’ll give you a discount.”
He held up his phone, his eyes alight with eagerness.
【Add him!】
【You have to!)
【Keep him around to piss that bastard off!】
【This little puppy is so much better than that old bastard Nathaniel!】
【Sis, agree quickly!】
【He’s so good at being cute!]
The chorus of encouragement from my friends rang in my ears.
I hesitated for a moment, about to decline, but then I looked into his bright, sincere eyes, and my heart inexplicably softened.
With a nod, I scanned his QR code, feeling a rush of spontaneity. “Done.”
“Thanks, sis!” he exclaimed, his face lighting up with uncontainable joy.
I smoothed down my skirt and turned to head home, feeling a strange sense of exhilaration.
As soon as I stepped through the door, I was immediately assaulted by the acrid smell of smoke.
Nathaniel had changed into a set of gray silk pajamas, his damp hair clinging to his forehead, evidence of a recent shower. Yet, despite his attempt to clean up, he was pacing anxiously in the living room, and as soon as he spotted me, he rushed over.
A wave of odor hit me—a jarring mix of stale tobacco and the sour, unpleasant scent of a mouth that had gone unbrushed through the night.
I instinctively frowned, my mind flashing back to the fresh-faced young masseur from earlier, who had carried with him the faint, soothing scent of wood.
