After Drowning Our Son My Husband Was Consumed By Regret Chapter 07

Chapter 7 Tell me. Who did this?

“Lory…” His teeth ground together, voice raw with fury.

“Tell me. Who did this?”

The sight of my father–Luciano, a man who rarely showed weakness–broke the last of my restraint.

Tears streamed down uncontrollably.

“Dad…”

I collapsed into his arms, sobbing so hard I could barely breathe.

“It was Gerald… for Tiffany… he killed Miles. And he tried to kill me too…”

My father’s body stiffened.

Gently, he set me aside, then rose, step by step, toward Gerald.

His eyes brimmed with murderous intent, his face was stoned cold.

Gerald stumbled backward in terror, babbling, “D–Dad, wait, let me explain–it was an accident, all an accident-”

“Accident?” My father’s voice was quiet and deadly. Then his hand shot out, seizing Gerald’s throat in an iron grip.

“Then let me show you what an accident feels like.

Gerald’s face flushed scarlet, his eyes bulging, tongue lolling as he clawed helplessly at my father’s hand.

“D–Dad… have mercy…” he choked, his voice barely a rasp.

Tiffany shrieked, making a break for the door–only to be plucked off the ground by two bodyguards and flung back to the floor like a ragdoll.

“Don’t you dare call me Dad!” My father’s voice cracked like thunder.

“The Olson family has no use for swine like you!”

He tightened his grip. Gerald’s eyes rolled back, his body convulsing.

“Mr.. Mr. Olson…” Gerald croaked, switching titles in desperation.

“M–Misunderstanding… it was an accident… the child slipped…”

“Slipped?”

My father hurled him to the ground with a bone–rattling force. Gerald lay gasping, clutching his throat, coughing until tears and snot streamed down his face.

My father planted a foot on his chest, grinding down. Gerald screamed in agony.

“My grandson ‘slipped‘ into the pool? You ‘accidentally‘ strangled him to death? You are ‘accidentally‘ trying to drown my daughter too?”

Each word was a blade.

“Do vou take me for a fool. Gerald?”

“Do you take me for a fool, Gerald?”

Tiffany crawled over, clutching at my father’s leg.

“Mr. Olson! Please–it wasn’t Gerald! It was the child! He… he kicked me, and it hurt so much! Gerald just wanted to discipline him lightly! It was Lorraine–she didn’t watch her son! It’s her fault he died!”

Even now, she twisted the truth.

Rage surged through me. My chest heaved as I lunged forward, seizing her hair and yanking her head up.

Then smack after smack, I rained blows across her face, each strike harder than the last, the sound echoing through the hall.

“Lightly discipline‘? Then I’ll show you how to discipline lightly! I’ll show you pain! I’ll show you what it means to slander me!”

Every slap carried the weight of my grief, my fury, my despair.

Her face ballooned grotesquely, split lips bleeding, crimson smearing her cheeks. She wailed, shrieking, scrambling to shield herself–but she couldn’t escape.

Just as I hadn’t been able to escape when she and Gerald did the same to me.
