After 100 Twisted Games Goodbye Ex-Husband Chapter 15
Hazel! Please Come Back!
For days, Julian drowned himself in alcohol and self-loathing.
He went after every elite player who’d bet on the games.
Made enemies everywhere.
A guard handed him a tablet.
“Mr. Voss, here’s today’s footage of Miss Bella’s game.”
Julian lazily pressed play.
Watched Bella thrown into a fighting pit.
Wild dogs tearing at her flesh.
Her screams were inhuman.
“Mm.
Continue.” He took a sip of whiskey.
Closed his eyes like it didn’t concern him.
Bella’s fate was her own doing.
And his too.
Julian became a soulless work machine.
Stayed at the office until dawn every night.
Then took sleeping pills to pass out.
He couldn’t afford to be idle.
Every free moment, he thought of me.
Me opening the gun to my chest on that cliff.
The despair in my eyes.
Those three sentences.
With each shot, I’d repaid him for something.
I’d settled the debt.
But he’d never escape.
Julian’s spiral caught his family’s attention.
His father stormed into the penthouse.
Looked at the empty bottles everywhere.
The dusty floors.
Scoffed in disgust.
“Pathetic.
Destroying yourself over a woman.”
Julian barely lifted his head.
“So what?
You’ve got plenty of illegitimate sons.
Give the company to them.
I don’t care.”
“You—!
Ungrateful brat!” His father’s blood pressure spiked.
The assistant quickly tried to calm him.
“Chairman, please.
Mr. Voss hasn’t neglected work.
I take him for health checkups monthly.
He’s fine.”
After much coaxing, the Chairman left.
“Hmph.
He won’t let go until he hits rock bottom.” He turned to the assistant before getting in his car.
“He’s obsessed with that woman?
Find someone who looks like her.
Snap him out of it.”
The assistant nodded obediently.
Three days later, at a business gala, Julian met “her.”
Sasha Lin.
Daughter of the Lin Corporation’s CEO.
She looked about seventy percent like me.
With my hairstyle and makeup, the resemblance jumped to eighty percent.
“Mr. Voss, it’s an honor.” Sasha smiled politely.
Even her voice sounded similar.
“Could I get your contact information?”
Julian froze.
Stared at her outstretched hand.
His assistant whispered, “Mr. Voss, just add her.
The Lin family’s about to partner with us on a development deal.”
Julian leaned closer to Sasha.
She blushed.
“Mr. Voss, are you—”
“Could you starve and dehydrate yourself, then eat live cockroaches to stay alive?”
His question came out of nowhere.
Sasha went rigid.
His face twisted into a disturbing smile.
His voice dropped.
“Have you ever jumped out of a helicopter without a parachute?
Could you walk a mile barefoot on broken glass?
Hold your breath underwater for seven minutes?”
“You copied her look.
But those are things she did for me.
Could you?”
His voice grew louder.
The elites around them turned to stare.
Sasha’s face went pale.
Her hands crumpled her dress.
“You’re insane!” She threw the words at him.
Stormed off.
Julian smiled in relief.
Stroked the watch on his wrist—my watch.
“Hazel, did you see?
I turned her down.”
“Besides you, I’ll never love anyone else.
Don’t be angry.”
The assistant looked terrified.
They’d just offended the Lin family.
The Chairman would be furious.
But Julian didn’t care.
He was tired of the gala.
Had the assistant drive him home.
The car rolled slowly through the streets.
Julian stared out the window absently.
It was Valentine’s Day.
Couples everywhere.
Holding hands.
Smiling.
His chest ached.
If not for that final game, he and I would’ve been that happy.
But then his gaze landed on something.
His pupils contracted.
“STOP THE CAR!” He shouted.
