Accidentally Dating The Esports Pro Chapter 02
My brain short-circuited.
I hadn’t logged into this specific account in forever; I’d handed it over to my little brother, Ethen Merrick.
Was that punk seriously smooth enough to lock down a couple status with someone like Bryson Laxton?
A second later, Bryson’s mic icon flashed.
His deep, calm voice drifted through my headset, sounding a little thrown off.
“Uh… we have matching usernames.
“If I’m not mistaken, I’m pretty sure you’re my online girlfriend.”
I sat paralyzed in my chair.
What?
Since when did I have a boyfriend?
My stream’s background music rolled over right at that exact moment.
Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” started blasting out over the broadcast, “You’ll be the prince, and I’ll be the princess.
“It’s a love story, baby, just say yes.”
I stared blankly at my own in-game name on the screen.
“Be_The_Princess.”
It really was a matching set.
Chat was having an absolute field day. “LMAO, how much do they love T-Swift?”
“This couple is comedy gold, I’m dead…”
“Wait, if you two are e-dating, why are you acting like complete strangers?”
“Please, let me experience an online romance like this, too.”
I leaned into my mic, my voice coming out soft and mortified. “Um, we do have matching usernames.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t even realize at first…”
Bryson cleared his throat, sounding a little flushed himself.
“It’s okay, babe.
“Actually… this is the first time I’m hearing your voice.
“It sounds really nice.”
My whole body seized up.
He’d actually just called me babe.
My head was spinning, and I could feel a furious blush creeping all the way up my neck.
For the first time in my streaming career, I felt incredibly lucky that I hadn’t bothered turning on my face cam today.
Thank goodness nobody could see what a flustered mess I was.
