Abandoned By My Alpha And Pup Now Their Rival’s Luna Chapter 02
The Amulet
Serena steps quickly to his side, lowering her voice to a conspiratorial whisper.
“Alpha, even though the pact strips her of custody… in all my years as Magistrate, I’ve never seen a mother give up her pup so easily.”
“Maeve has been unfaithful multiple times. She probably planned this all along. After all, dragging a pup around would just slow her down… Don’t waste your breath trying to talk her out of it!”
She glances at me, feigning a look of deep sorrow.
I let out a dry laugh.
She seems to have conveniently forgotten…
Four years ago, she was the one who drafted this ridiculous pact, specified the exact number of offenses.
Grayson’s aura drops to freezing.
“You better stick to your word. Don’t come crawling back on your knees when the reality of being a rogue hits you.”
With that, he turns on his heel and storms out.
I watch him leave, a bitter smirk tugging at my lips.
I won’t, Grayson.
Back then, just to convince myself to accept our mating, I visited every sacred grove across the territories, and the omens I received were nothing but warnings of doom.
Later, I traveled beyond the borders, kneeling before the High Priestess for a day and a night, just to hear her say: “The Moon Goddess destines this match, regardless of bloodlines.”
Who knew that defying fate for a blessing would only shackle me to a curse.
This time, my knees will never bend for him again.
Serena looks at me, a victorious smirk playing on her lips. “Well, Maeve, we’ll leave you to your little rendezvous. Enjoy the rest of your night!”
The moment the door clicks shut, the room falls dead silent.
I glance down at the male still passed out on the bed.
My stomach churns with pure disgust.
Actually, I woke up way before them. I could have easily slipped out before they arrived to “catch” me.
But I was exhausted from this endless cat-and-mouse game.
So, I waited.
I pull on my coat and walk out the door without a single backward glance.
I return to the pack house to pack my bags before evening.
I push open the door to the Alpha’s suite, only to find the room completely stripped of my existence. My clothes, my vanity, everything—gone.
An Omega maid stammers nervously, refusing to meet my eyes.
“Luna… your things were moved to the storage shed out back… Miss Serena said the master suite needs to be cleared out immediately for the new Luna…”
I let out a soft, humorless laugh.
Mated for four years, and I don’t even get the dignity of a proper goodbye.
I turn and head out to the dusty storage shed behind the estate.
Pushing the creaky door open, I find my life reduced to a mountain of carelessly stacked boxes and trash bags.
I crouch down, digging through them one by one.
I don’t care about the designer clothes or the jewelry. I just need to find my mother’s Ancestral Moonstone Amulet.
It was passed down from my grandmother to my mother, and then to me…
It’s the only thing in this massive estate that actually belongs to me.
Finally, I find it buried at the bottom of a cardboard box.
I clutch it tightly in my palm, letting out a long, shaky breath.
Just as I’m gathering a few basic shirts to take with me, a sharp, childish voice snaps from the doorway.
“What are you doing?”
I look over my shoulder. Leo’s small frame is blocking the exit.
He has Grayson’s striking features, but the arrogant, condescending way he crosses his arms is pure Serena.
“Taking my things.”
I turn back and keep packing.
Normally, whenever I saw him—even when he pushed me away—I would smother him with hugs and kisses.
But today, I feel nothing but a hollow calm.
“Those aren’t yours.”
When I don’t reply, he marches into the shed.
He stomps his little boot right onto the clothes I just folded. “Auntie Serena says everything in this house belongs to the Alpha. You’re not allowed to take anything.”
