A Lowborn Bitch In His World Chapter 02
Adrian gathered a bunch of his rich friends for a pool party.
Someone said with excitement, “Kiss! Kiss!”
Hayley, blushing, kept backing away. Adrian reached out, imprisoning her in his arms, and kissed her.
Afterwards, she gave him a coquettish slap. “Your wife is watching! I don’t want to be misunderstood as a homewrecker!”
Their friends egged them on, saying, “In fact, she is the other woman. Even with your engagement to Addy all over the news, she just pretended not to know and threw herself at Addy.”
Adrian kneaded Hayley’s slender waist absently and said, “What’s there to be afraid of? You’re the only one I acknowledge as my wife.”
All the scornful gazes landed on me.
But it was Adrian who came after me in the beginning.

The first time I met Adrian was at the gate of UCLA.
I was in a hurry to get to my tutoring job and hurriedly got into a car waiting at the curb, urging him to drive faster.
Adrian looked at me in amused surprise, smiled, and silently drove me to the villa district without a word.
When I was about to pay him, he friended me instead. “Miss, does my car really look that much like an Uber?”
My face was flushed. I didn’t know how to respond and fled the scene.
I found out later that the car cost hundreds of times what my college tuition was.
Then, Adrian began pursuing me passionately, while I silently refused.
This love game continued until the day I was trapped and assaulted by the father of the student I tutored. Adrian kicked the door open and beat the man on top of me badly.
He held my trembling body and said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
After we started dating, he openly acknowledged me as his girlfriend.
He posted pictures of us together on Instagram. And his phone wallpaper was one of those.
He even decorated the passenger seat of his car and his room to be spaces exclusively for me.
Seeing my nervous expression, he smiled, “I’m not some useless rich kid. My family doesn’t need me to marry for business.”
He looked at me with affectionate eyes, getting down on one knee. “So, Jae, will you marry me?”
I said yes, of course.
Adrian took me to meet his parents. Monica and George received me kindly and gave me a family heirloom bracelet.
But they presented a condition.
“The company needs a capital injection recently. We require the Perez Group’s help. To solidify the cooperation, we must have Addy engaged with the Perez family’s daughter.
“But don’t worry. It’s just for business. You only need to wait for Addy for one year. Once the cooperation ends, the engagement will be cancelled, and we will compensate you with a grand wedding ceremony.”
Adrian looked at me with guilty eyes and apologized, “I’m sorry, Jae. Don’t worry. It won’t mean anything. Hayley is my childhood friend. After we get engaged, she’s moving abroad to settle down. She won’t affect our relationship.”
I suppressed the turmoil in my heart and nodded.
Adrian, however, got drunk over this. He held me and said many things.
“The thought of having to wait another year to marry you makes me miserable.
“If only you could get pregnant with my child. Then, I’d give up everything else…”
One week before the wedding, I was pregnant.
Just as I was hesitating, unsure whether to tell Adrian, Monica came to see me.
She congratulated me with a beaming smile, then told me, “Actually, Addy’s grandpa once set up a trust fund. As long as Addy has a child, he can access it. Then, he wouldn’t need to marry the Perez girl.”
She looked at me meaningfully. “You are truly fortunate, Jae.
“Why not tell Addy this good news on the wedding day? This wedding won’t need to be cancelled; it can just be for you and Addy.”
If only I had noticed her mocking smile then.
But I didn’t. Joy clouded my mind.
I thought I had solved a huge problem for Adrian. Overjoyed, I put on the wedding dress Monica sent and rushed to the wedding venue.
With a smile full of happiness, I watched as Adrian, his eyes gentle, placed the veil upon my head.
He leaned close to my ear and whispered, “Jaelyn, you’re such a bitch.”
It made me calm down. Only then did I see the hostile, disgusted looks all around.
Hayley ran away in tears.
The Payne and Perez families all looked grim.
And reporters pointed their cameras at me.
Overnight, I became a shameless bitch. Everyone hated me.
They thought I used my pregnancy to climb up and ruin the wedding.
People’s fury descended. They found out my identity and reported me to my university, demanding my expulsion, saying I was unworthy of being a UCLA student.
I was forced to drop out. I could have gotten a Ph.D. and a promising future.
They even found my grandmother’s house in the distant countryside and set it on fire, killing her.
I cried, wanting to hold those people accountable, but Adrian stopped me, forbidding any lawyer from taking the case.
He said, “The first rule of the Payne family is to always prioritize the family’s interests.
“I don’t want this minor issue to affect the family’s reputation. Do you understand?”
The arsonists were released without charges.
Adrian used my grandmother’s ashes to threaten me to apologize before the cameras and admit my “wrongs.”
Numbly, I repeated, “I’m sorry. It’s all my fault for being shameless, for interfering in someone else’s relationship, for using pregnancy to climb up. I caused harmful consequences. I apologize for what I have done…”
