A Dark Revenge On My Cheating Husband Chapter 12

Just as Xzavier was about to take the tablet, another employee hurried over to urge him. He seemed not to have heard the assistant’s words, withdrew his hand, and said indifferently, “Leave the tablet on my desk. I’ll look at it later. For now, I need to deal with the media and the families outside.”

“Also, contact the tech department. I want all the operation logs and surveillance footage from backstage on the day of the press conference. I need them right now.”

The assistant dared not say anything more and hurried away.

At exactly ten o’clock. Xzavier stepped onto the stage for the press conference.

Flashes poured down like a torrential rain, and the sound of shutters clicked incessantly.

He wore a simple white shirt and black trousers. His eyes were ashen, so dim that he seemed nothing like the strong and domineering CEO he used to be.

He first calmly took full responsibility, then resolutely resigned from his position as CEO.

The entire venue was in an uproar.

“Secondly,” Xzavier raised his voice above the commotion, “I sincerely ask Ms. Pynson to return, in my own name. Only she can truly solve the technical problems and prevent more tragedies from happening.”

The reporters could no longer hold back and all raised their hands to ask questions.

“Mr. Kenward! Since you admit there were technical flaws, does that mean Ms. Lennard actually lacks the ability to develop the product?”

“What is your relationship with Ms. Lennard? Why did you insist on letting her take charge of the core project despite all the opposition?”

“Will Ms. Pynson come back? Are you using your past relationship to morally coerce her?”

Xzavier did not answer any questions about Daniela.

He simply repeated, “My only request now is for Ms. Pynson to return. Only she can save this project and prevent more families from being hurt.”

The press conference ended hastily.

Escorted by security, Xzavier left in a hurry, leaving countless questions behind.

Back in the office, the technical director Javon Moore was already waiting there, visibly nervous.

“Mr. Kenward, these are the backstage logs and surveillance from the day of the press Conference.” He placed a USB drive on the desk. “But… some of the data may have already been ered.”

“What do you mean?”

Javon lowered his voice: “The system logs show that Ms. Lennard did not perform any valid operations during the demonstration. All the preset demo code was… was packaged in advance by Ms. Pynson. Ms. Lennard only clicked the run button.”

Xzavier took the USB drive and plugged it into the computer.

On the surveillance footage, Daniela on stage was reading from the teleprompter word for word, while the technical team below was in chaos.

When the alarm sounded, her first reaction was to look toward him at the side of the stage, her eyes full of panic and helplessness-an expression that should never belong to a technical lead.

The log files were even more direct: user “Daniela” had zero recorded operations on the system during the critical period.

She truly didn’t know anything.

Xzavier closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

But his lips moved almost imperceptibly, his voice trembling: “No… Ella is a genius, she said… she said she would help me grow the company…’
