I Signed With The Wrong Husband Chapter 12
In the detention room, Sylvester lit a cigarette. “Tell me what happened that day,” he said, his voice low. “And I’ll give you that 500,000 dollars.”
Miranda’s mouth was sealed with tape. She struggled desperately, shaking her head frantically at Timothy.
“What do you think?” Timothy snarled. “Miranda told me to push that bitch down the mountain, and I did. I did my job–but she never paid me!”
Sylvester stubbed out his cigarette and dropped a gun on the table.
“Do to her what you did to Henrietta,” he said calmly. “I’ll give you 1.5 million dollars.”
Timothy’s eyes lit up with greed. “You can really pay that much? Don’t lie to me.”
Without a word, Sylvester signed a check and tossed it onto the floor.
Miranda writhed, her muffled cries filling the room, but all she could do was curse in silence.
Timothy picked up the gun and shot her in the abdomen without hesitation.
The metallic scent of blood instantly filled the air.
Sylvester straightened his suit. “I’ve already called the police,” he said coolly. “One of you assaulted, the other extorted.”
Taking in Timothy’s shocked face, he let out a scoff.
“Don’t worry. You’ll still get the money. But you’ll be spending it in prison.”
With video evidence of both crimes secured, he drove straight to the Meskill’s villa.
“Hattie! Come out! Please… I need to see you! I have something to say!”
He fought against the bodyguards trying to restrain him, desperate to get inside.
Henrietta finally emerged, frowning at him.
Only a few days had passed, but he was unrecognizable.
He had once been imposing and impeccably groomed.
But now, he was a disheveled madman, his face covered in stubble, his clothes stained with blood of unknown origin.
At the sight of her, Sylvester pulled out his phone and showed her the video of Timothy shooting Miranda.
“It was my fault. Miranda deceived me… She blinded me.
“I’ve sent that bastard to prison.
“I know it’s all my doing. Please don’t be angry with me anymore, alright?
“Let’s start over. Let’s get married.”
Henrietta stared coldly at his face, filled with madness.
“What makes you think I’d ever want to be with you again? You’re tainted.
“Leave. The sight of you sickens me.”
Sylvester was overwhelmed by despair.
He knew–Henrietta was no longer his.
He lifted his head, staring blankly at her retreating figure as tears finally streamed down his face.
This time, he had lost her for good.
