30 Days Until He Loses Me Chapter 29

“Feli, will you come back to me?”

Felicia struggled and broke free from Joshua’s embrace, but her arm was still tightly gripped by the man.

She already regretted agreeing to meet Joshua for a conversation.

Originally, she had wanted to talk to Joshua about Timothy, but now it seemed unnecessary.

“Mr. Crawford, isn’t it inappropriate for you to come looking for your married ex to reconcile instead of staying home with your wife and son this late?” Felicia’s voice was icy.

Thinking of Timothy’s innocent, watery eyes, she became even more annoyed: “You have time to bother others, but not to accompany your own son to see a doctor? Do you even know that he…”

“He is not my son! Feli, he isn’t, I never betrayed you!”

Felicia was startled; he actually knew Timothy’s true identity.

She immediately sneered: “Betrayal? What do you think counts as betrayal? Only sleeping with Whitney?”

“You never stopped thinking about Whitney. During the four years we were together, you thought about her day and night. Doesn’t that count as betrayal?”

“You left me again and again for her. Do you think that isn’t betrayal?”

“Or do you think I could be generous enough to share a husband with someone else?”

Felicia’s voice was calm, as if she were telling someone else’s story.

“When I broke up with you five years ago, there was no way I could ever have you in my heart again, Joshua.”

Felicia showed off the ring Gideon had given her: “Do you need to see the marriage certificate?”

“Since you managed to find out about Timothy, it shouldn’t be hard to discover Abigail’s identity. Do I really need to waste my breath explaining it to you again?”

Joshua’s face was pale, but he remained stubborn: “I’ve been waiting for you these five years. I know you married Gideon for Abigail, Feli, you don’t love him.”

“How do you know I don’t love him? And how do you know I still love you?”

“Joshua, I only agreed to meet you to talk about Timothy’s illness. Since you’ve been raising him all this time, you should fulfill your responsibility as a father. He… really hopes for your response.”

Thinking of Timothy’s lonely expression when he mentioned Joshua, Felicia felt a pang of sadness.

Perhaps it was because she was a mother now, she dared not imagine how much it would hurt if it were Abigail.

“After you left, I searched everywhere for you… Whitney drugged my drink to marry me, then she was drugged by a man who pursued her and got pregnant, but she thought it was mine. She forced me to marry her because of the pregnancy, and I had no choice but to agree.”

“My heart only has you, Feli.”

Felicia was too tired to listen to such melodramatic stories and turned to walk back into the house: “Whoever is in your heart has nothing to do with me. The past is the past. Five years have passed, and we already have completely new lives. Clinging to the past does no good for anyone.”

Just before closing the door, Felicia reminded him again: “Timothy’s condition is not optimistic, especially since his mood greatly affects his illness. You… it would be best if he could have surgery as soon as possible.”

After saying this, she no longer cared what expression the man outside wore.

Felicia returned to the room and looked at the sleeping Abigail. Her sadness was immediately replaced, and she hugged Abigail and fell asleep.

The next morning, unable to resist Abigail’s constant complaints about how boring it was to stay at home, Felicia took her to the hospital.

Doctors and nurses rushed to pinch Abigail’s cheeks, all exclaiming how adorable she was.

After Abigail finished a series of examinations and all the data showed she was stable, Felicia finally felt at ease and went to her clinic.

The morning passed quickly. Just as Felicia was thinking about where to take Abigail for lunch, a nurse rushed in, her face extremely pale: “Something’s wrong, Dr. Delgado, Abigail is missing!”
