10 Days To Escape My Marriage Chapter 17

10 Days To Escape My Marriage Chapter 17

For nearly eight months, from late autumn to the following summer, William had searched every hospital, clinic, and even private practice in America, never imagining that Isabella had been hidden away by the Sullivan family!

He had even called Samantha back then, only for her to feign shock.

“You’re saying you two got divorced?

That’s impossible, Isabella loves you so much… I have no idea where she is. We had a falling out and haven’t spoken in ages.”

That liar!

As William looked at the photos on the social media account, the veins on his forehead throbbed with rage.

He was about to close the page, but as his finger scrolled, he found himself gradually captivated by the images,

It had been a long time since he had seen Isabella smile like that…

When they first met on campus all those years ago, he had seen her from afar, wearing that exact same smile.

She had been looking up, calling out to a kitten, “Be a good girl, come down. I’ll catch you.”

Her expression was so gentle that it inspired trust in every living creature.

He had no doubt that even if he hadn’t climbed the tree, the kitten would have eventually jumped into Isabella’s arms.

Yet, after they got together, that smile had rarely appeared… Why?

Was Isabella unhappy being with him?

A sudden spasm seized William’s heart, the pain so intense he clutched his chest and nearly doubled over.

But a few seconds later, he gritted his teeth and sat up straight, forcing himself not to dwell on it.

Isabella was happy, of course,

Once he got her back, with no outsiders to interfere, she would be even happier,

With that thought in mind, his finger scrolled to the very bottom… The only couple photo on the account caught his eye, and his breath hitched in his throat.

Isabella… and Anika.

The informant saw it and smiled. “This account went viral back then because of that very photo”

“Word is they’re a couple. Just look at that shared smile–so full of affection.

That picture even won the Sweetest Couple Award this Valentine’s Day!”

The man had come to claim the reward for the lead, oblivious to the history between Isabella and William.

Seeing William’s expression darken, the assistant hurriedly ushered the informant out and closed the door.

Sure enough, moments later, the sounds of smashing and a beast–like roar erupted from the office.

The assistant shook his head.

The new secretary was frantic. “Mr. Harrington’s meeting is starting. The clients have been waiting for ages… It’s a multi–billion dollar project!”

He moved to knock, but the assistant stopped him. “No. When Mr. Harrington is missing his wife, he is not to be disturbed.”

“Forget a billion–dollar project–even the former Chairman would have to step aside.”

Besides, before, he simply couldn’t find her. Now, he’s discovered she has a new lover.

That kind of rage… I’m afraid no one can quell it.

That very night, William boarded his private jet bound for America.

The next day, the moment he landed, he headed straight for the Sullivans‘ sanatorium and barged right in.

But he didn’t find Isabella.

The therapist at the center told him the truth: “Ms. Montgomery has fully recovered and has already been discharged.”

A young nurse nearby, a fan of Phoenix Rising, giggled at this. “She didn’t just leave; she went on a honeymoon trip… with her boyfriend.”

“I heard that too.

We practically watched them fall in love,” another nurse chimed in. “It’s so sweet, like a fairytale… She’s his sole light and salvation, and he’s the stray cat she took in.

“Haha, that’s spot on! Mr. Sullivan is ice–cold to everyone else, but the moment he sees Isabella, he turns into a docile big cat!”

The two laughed happily, until a sudden, deafening crash beside them made them scream in terror.

They turned to see William, his face livid, having smashed his fist violently onto the desk.

A corner of the desk had splintered, and William’s hand had split open, blood streaming down.

“Anika. Good. You’re really something.”

“Everyone knows you don’t touch a friend’s wife. I didn’t expect you to be the exception… It seems I’ll have to teach you a lesson.”
