Fake Heiress Real Fall Chapter 06
The military base housing completely erupted in chaos.
“Oh my god!
He… he’s an absolute animal!”
“Cuckolding his own comrade, and after the man died, bringing the bastard back to worship like a little princess?!”
“And making his own wife and biological daughter serve this bastard! Why doesn’t Daniel just go to hell!”
Stella froze, completely dumbfounded.
The “Gold Star orphan” shield she had always been so proud of wasn’t just shattered — it had turned into a pile of everlasting shit!
She had become the most disgusting illegitimate daughter in the entire compound!
“No… it’s not true… I’m a Gold Star orphan… I’m not a bastard!”
She screamed, trying to grab Daniel’s pant leg.
Daniel kicked her away as if avoiding a plague!
Pride. In his eyes, his pride and reputation were his life!
Right now, he just wanted to toss this ticking time bomb away!
“Ridiculous! Madam, this is slander! These are lies!”
Eyes red with desperation, Daniel turned to Sophia for help.
“Sophia! You have to believe me!
That is Thomas’s child, she has nothing to do with me!”
Jasper, who had remained silent all this while, pulled a file folder from his pocket.
“Whether it’s a rumor or not, we’ll know just by checking the blood type records from the field hospital back then. Thomas has type O blood, and his wife has type O blood. Yet the Stella they gave birth to has type AB blood, just like you.”
“Daniel, I’ve been investigating this in secret for three months. I originally planned to hand it over to the Office of the Inspector General in a few days. But since we have an audience today, let’s just get it done right now.”
Jasper slammed the file directly into Daniel’s face.
The last shred of hope in Daniel completely vanished.
He fell to his knees with a heavy thud in front of Sophia.
Snot and tears streamed down his face, leaving not a trace of the imposing aura of a Deputy Chief of Staff.
“Sophia… I was wrong! I was seduced by that woman! I just had a moment of weakness!”
“For the sake of Evelyn having just returned, for the sake of her needing a complete family!
For the sake of Evelyn’s future! Please forgive me just this once!”
He actually dared to use me as a shield!
I looked down at this utterly despicable man on the floor.
My stomach churned violently, making me sick to the point of throwing up.
I took a step forward and stomped hard on the back of his hand as he tried to grab Sophia.
“Daniel, I would rather go back to the countryside and farm for the rest of my life than acknowledge a moral-trampling, comrade-murdering beast as my father.”
Sophia gave me a look of gratification, then turned her gaze back to Daniel.
“Daniel, tomorrow morning at eight, we’re going to the county clerk’s office for a divorce. I have already sent this whistleblowing material directly to the Office of the Inspector General!”
“Get ready to rot in a military prison.”
***
Three months later.
Daniel was dishonorably discharged and sent to the harshest Hard Labor Camp in the Alaskan Tundra.
Stella was sentenced to five years in prison for long-term trafficking of military supplies involving massive amounts of money.
Rumor had it that because she still tried to throw her weight around in the detention center, her cellmates broke her legs.
Sophia was promoted to the Senior Executive Service, and Jasper was promoted to regiment commander.
Today was Christmas Eve.
My mother, my brother, and I gathered around the warm fireplace, with steaming pasta set on the table.
Jasper clumsily scooped a big portion of pasta into my bowl, his ears turning slightly red:
“Evelyn, eat some more.”
Sophia smiled and gently stroked my hair.
“Our Evelyn will only have better and better days ahead.”
I took a bite of the pasta. Outside the window, a heavy snow was falling.
But in my life, spring had arrived and flowers were blooming.
