Abandoned By My Alpha And Pup Now Their Rival’s Luna Chapter 05

Locked Away

Grayson freezes for a second, looking down at the pup in his arms.

Leo shrinks against his chest, his sobs quieting down as he mutters, “I was just telling the truth… Auntie Serena said that old hag is just burning through your resources…”

Grayson pinches the bridge of his nose, exhaling a heavy breath.

“Why are you holding a grudge against a pup?” He shoots me a dismissive glare. “Serena manages the pack’s treasury now. She was just stating a financial fact, and Leo overheard it. Don’t blow this out of proportion.”

“You know exactly how much she sacrifices for this pack every single day.”

His gaze briefly drops to the shattered moonstone in my palm.

His tone softens, just a fraction.

“I brought Leo here today so the two of you could talk. But about that matter—don’t tell him yet. I don’t want it affecting his development.”

I know he’s talking about the Severance Pact and my banishment.

I say absolutely nothing.

Talk?

What is there to talk about?

We’ve been mated for four years, yet the time he and Leo spend talking to me combined doesn’t even equal half the time they spend with Serena.

Back in our academy days, he was the one who relentlessly pursued me, breaking down my walls until I fell for him.

He prayed to the Moon Goddess, seeking blessings for a mating everyone thought was impossible due to my lower rank…

Even without that “accidental pregnancy,” I had already gathered the courage to defy pack hierarchy and accept him as my mate.

Looking back now, it’s a good thing I never told him that.

My mother is still lying in the healing center, waiting for me to visit her.

Thinking of this, I grab my duffel bag and walk straight out of the dusty shed.

In the main living room, Serena is crouching in front of Leo, cooing and wiping his tears.

I walk right past them, my face completely blank.

Behind me, Leo bursts into a fresh fit of tears. “Why is that traitor ignoring me?!”

He stomps his little boots, exploding with genuine grievance.

He’s so used to me rushing over with red eyes to coddle him every time he throws a tantrum. He’s used to me whispering, “Don’t be mad, Leo, Mommy was wrong.”

So the moment I don’t even spare him a single glance, he feels utterly victimized.

Grayson says nothing, but the icy weight of his Alpha stare burns into my back.

I don’t stop walking.

Just as my hand touches the heavy oak front door, his temper finally snaps. “Halt!”
