10 Days To Escape My Marriage Chapter 19
William was eventually pulled out by tourists.
When he woke up, he was lying alone on the shore, soaking wet, watching from a distance as Isabella and Anika rested by the RV.
Both had already changed into dry clothes.
Anika was gently drying Isabella’s hair, while Isabella sipped the hot ginger tea in her hand, occasionally lifting it to offer Anika a sip.
“You’ve been in the rain. Dry off quickly and drink some hot ginger tea to ward off the chill.
Isabella had once said those exact words to him… A sharp pain pierced William’s heart like a needle.
He pushed aside the tourists nearby and stumbled toward Isabella like a wandering spirit, demanding, “What is going on with him?
Isabella, how could you be so intimate with someone else behind my back?
!”
He couldn’t handle just this?
She had watched William and his foster sister clinging to each other every single day for four whole years!
She swept a cold gaze over William. “Sir, we are divorced. Who I am with has nothing to do with you.”
But Anika, who usually put on a brave front, suddenly frowned, clutching his side and groaning softly in pain.
Isabella panicked instantly, reaching to lift the hem of his shirt to check. “Where does it hurt?
Did you get injured in the fight?”
William felt a surge of rage and jealousy.
That damn bitch!
He hadn’t landed a single punch, while he himself had taken several hits for nothing and nearly died… What was Anika pretending for!
He gritted his teeth in hatred, wanting to curse more, but Isabella suddenly whipped around, glaring at him furiously.
“William, have you made enough of a scene?
Anika is my friend, and I won’t let anyone bully him.
“If you dare cause any more trouble, I’ll call the police, report you for stalking, and file for a restraining order!”
These words sent a sharp wave of panic through William.
America was already hostile toward the Harrington Group. If Isabella called the police, he risked immediate deportation and a permanent ban.
He glared at Anika, who was shamelessly feigning frailty, leaning heavily on Isabella’s shoulder while shooting William a provocative smirk.
William felt like his lungs were about to explode from the sheer force of his rage.
But he restrained himself. “Fine, I won’t make a scene… Isabella, let’s talk.”
“I know you’re still angry, but look at these videos… I got revenge for you. Everything Victoria put you through, I’ve made her pay for it.”
The video playing on his phone showed Victoria covered in cuts, limping on one leg, looking completely out of her mind.
But Isabella merely glanced at it before frowning. “I have no interest in what happens to her.
Whether she’s gone mad or gone to prison, I don’t care.‘
“I have work to do.
Please don’t disturb us.‘
With that, the two of them walked away without sparing him another glance.
Isabella walked to the edge of the waterfall, breaking into a smile, while Anika followed behind with the camera gear.
One posed, one filmed–they were in perfect sync.
William felt cold to the bone. He trailed behind them, trembling, feeling completely shut out.
Why?
Why was Isabella ignoring him even though she wasn’t angry anymore?
William didn’t understand, yet he couldn’t bring himself to leave.
That night, he came down with a high fever.
He lay in a daze in a hospital room in America, a nurse asking beside him, “Your condition is quite serious. We need to notify your family. Who should I contact?”
William looked around blankly, realizing there was no one.
He had once valued family above all else, always longing for a harmonious home with loved ones by his side.
But now, his wife had run away from him, he had sent his foster sister to prison, and even his parents had cut ties with him.
He had no one left to call…
William’s throat tightened. He sat up abruptly and coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Then everything went black.
